For the record.
Just for the record, I'd like to state at this time, for all and sundry's notice:

After I am dead, I utterly reject any attempt by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly known as the Mormons, to baptise me via proxy rites into their body.

Are we very clear on this? I don't care what family member of mine you ask. I don't care what right you think you have to make this decision on my behalf. I don't want it. I will reject it. If you are stupid enough to get me a pass into Heavenly Father's afterlife, I will make His and your afterlives into something that the denizens of Hell, Gehenna, and Tartarus would thank their blasphemous lives for having managed to avoid.

I am not going to be bound by your nonsense. I have my own brand of nonsense already, thank you.

What you said. I find this practice SO friggin' offensive that it pisses me the hell off just to think about it.

me too, of course.

someone who reads my LJ who is both Christian and vegetarian was concerned about the cruel treatment of the animals that omnivores eat, and what it was doing to my karma/soul. when i explained that i buy most of my meat (and eggs) in Whole Foods, which favors "cruelty-free" products, zie was so relieved that zie said zie would "pray to God to grant me some special grace". i had to tell zir, as politely as possible, that zir god doesn't seem to like people like me very much. i still haven't thought of a tactful way to say "please don't pray to your god for me, no matter how good your intentions!"
