Everybody wants to rule the end of the world and I feel fine.
Ah, world domination and the end of human civilization as we have known it. Is there anything more satisfying? Answer: yes. Yes, there is, and it is a music source with just two simple songs activated at just the right moment.

As the Doomsday device is prepared and all is in readiness, the Overlord cues the music. As Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" comes to its final strains, the button is pushed, or the command code is given, or the spell that summons Demogorgon is cast or what have you, "The End" begins and the music crossfades into REM's "It's the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)."

Now that is satisfaction.

Unfortunately the only kind of Doomsday Device I can envision with that kind of soundtrack is a frickin' "laser" beam slicing out of the sky and turning an arrogant academic's home into a vast pile of popcorn for all the neighbor kids. *sigh*

Eventually, every Real Genius is surrounded by fools and lesser beings and thus runs screaming down the path of Mad Science.

That being said, even a diabolical master of things with which man was not meant to tamper can appreciate a chocablock full iPod.
