Notes from my day
Just a few notes, things I thought of today.

  • My darling wife is talking about her next computer being a Mac. Ali is not a Mac-head. She's been resolutely avoiding using Macs for as long as I've known her. Microsoft's mishandling of the whole Windows Vista mess has apparently galled her enough to want to eschew using MS products whenever possible, and that definitely includes avoiding Vista on her personal computer. Apparently, the knowledge that Macs can dual-boot with Boot Camp combined with the release of the shiny new iMac models with metal casing has convinced her that MacOS isn't as execrable as she once thought.

  • When someone you love says to you, "What do you want first, the good news or the bad news?", there is no correct answer. There is also no way you're going to be comfortable afterwards, not a chance.

  • Things work better when you follow instructions. Simple instructions are also the easiest to screw up, it would seem.

  • I'm still glad we quit playing World of Warcraft. Keep your fiery crusades. Keep your frost-covered undead kings. There are other games out there. Warhammer Online, coming out sometime soon, is one example. Eventually, StarCraft 2 will drop. There's been talk of MMOs for both Marvel and DC flavors, though the Marvel one is reputedly an XBox 360 exclusive while news or progress updates regarding the DC one have been conspicuously absent for over a year. None of this is helping me draw or get this latest comic idea out of my head.

  • I wish I had not started once more in paying attention to comic books. At least I can restrain myself and follow titles only in trade paperback format.

  • I don't have a lot of friends. The friends I do have, though, are priceless sources of amusement, comfort, and support. That being said, I still miss table-top, pen-and-paper role-playing.

I have to agree on the WoW statement. After comming back to CoH and meeting up with alot, though not all, of my friends I have to say CoH is better. WoW has it's points but CoH doesn't have alot of the issues WoW has as far as the social / grouping aspect. Hell, I was asked.. >>ASKED<< to come to a TF, a AV hunt run, and a farming run. Didn't have to beg people to play the game, that's nice.

While I would be all for cheering (read guy drinking beer and reciting the magic missle joke every time he got a new beer) on someone I probably won't table top game. **waves hand** no that is not the complete original set of D&D manuals in my closet... Okay maybe it is, but you can't see them.

You're getting more invites to things than I am, but you're right. I still get more invites to go do things in CoX than I ever did in WoW, even with a guild.

I DMed a game for a couple of years. I haven't played in over 6 years now. Considering that prior to that, I had one regular session and one floating session every week, it's quite the habit to have kicked.
