Blessed Samhain.
In just a few more nights, it will be "the" night. It will be the one night of the year when the Veil is thinnest of all the nights of the year. This is my night, my time of the year. Dark, cool, and quiet out; that outside of me reflects that within me. This is my favorite time in the whole year.

The world grows quiet, and in the twilit silence, we can hear the whispers of the dead. We are at the crossroads. It is that time of year when we choose our path for the next. Queen Hekate stands watch, and Her fearsome visage fools many into thinking that we cannot ask for direction or advice. This is my time, Her time... your time, and all you have to do is embrace it.

May the Queen of Air and Darkness bless you. May the Lord of the Paths bless you.

I hope some kids come to the door. We actually have candy to give them, for once.

Go ahead. Knock. I have candy, I'm serious. For you, I'll bake cookies.

I was so sad. We didn't get a SINGLE trick or treater. So I guess I must, out of duty, consume the Swedish Fish and Oreos that I bought. :)

Umm... it isn't Halloween yet.

In Pennsylvania they almost never have trick or treat night on Halloween (don't ask me why). It was supposed to be Thursday, but no one came.

this is, of course, one of my favorite times as well. i've always loved that feeling of late autumn nights, with a chilly wind making the dead leaves skitter across the ground, and the exciting-scary sense that something is just about to happen... that skin-tingling awareness of just how thin the Veil is (and the longing to know more about what might be on the other side)...

Queen Hekate doesn't scare me, although i respect Her very strongly. i hope to have a chance to have a conversation with Her next Tuesday night.

and, until full dark, i've got plenty of treats to give away too.
